Dear Friends and Supporters,

The tsunami on 26.12.2004 seriously damaged the one world foundation school facilities in Wathuregama on the south-west coast of Sri Lanka. It was a wonder that the owf had no deaths to mourn.

Thanks to the overwhelming response to the appeal for donations immediately after the catastrophe, a completely new school campus could be constructed during a construction period of only 16 months, where regular school operations were started again in January 2007.

Special thanks here go to the Municipality of Vienna who made available a large contribution for the reconstruction of the main campus. Special thanks to: Dr. Michael Häupl (Mayor), Mag^a Renate Brauner (City Councillor for Health and Social Affairs), Mag^a Sonja Wehsely (City Councillor for Integration and Women's Affairs), Dr. Oskar Wawra (Director of the Department for International Relations), Mag. Christian Anderle (Municipal Director Foreign Relations). And our special thanks to Prof. Harry Kopietz for his support.
